He was an Afro-Trinidadian writer, journalist and socialist theorist. Cyril was so influential in the United Kingdom as well as the United States in the socialist parties together with the Marxist idea or thought, and also leading thoughts concerning the end of the colonialism. He was born in Trinidad and Tobago, which by then was a British Crown colony, Cyril attended the Queen's Royal College in the Port of Spain before he become a cricket commentator, as well as also a writer of literature.
