The research objective is to make analytical review of current status based on empirical data and future perspectives for wind energy in Scandinavian countries and identify factors that promote or hinder diffusion process[1]. This research is therefore going to policies that lead to success, social, economic and political conditions in addition to other supportive mechanisms that have facilitated expansion of wind energy in Scandinavia, development trends and scale at both regional and global level in Scandinavia. The research will also formulate measurements which are crucial for further development of wind energy in Scandinavian countries and to identify the maximum capacity that can be reached by 2030 in each country with the most favorable conditions for the development. On the other hand, the research is also aimed at identifying obstacles and barriers for wind power diffusion.
