MESO-AMERICAN CULTURES Surely, the history of the Tenochca is considered one of the best preserved accounts of the Mesoamericans. Thayer asserts that the history of their beginning can be dated back to 1168 together with their origins to a certain island in the heart of a sea on the northern sides of the Valley of Mexico. Their god, whom they referred to as the “Huitzilopochtli”, controlled them on their journey to the southern parts and they reached the Valley of Mexico in the year 1248. In accordance to their history, we find that the Tenochca were at first nonviolent, but their Chichimec ways, particularly their practice of human scarification, horror-stroked other peoples who hooped in concert and did a way with their tribe. In the year 1300, the Tenochcas became the vassals of the township of Culhuacan; some of them runaway and went to stay on an island which was located in the middle of the sea. The township they founded was known as Tenochtitlan, meaning the place of the Tenochcas. The good blood that existed between the Tenochcas and Culhuacan later turned out to be bitter when the Tenochcas decided to sacrifice the daughter of the ......
