Discuss how Colorimetry and Spectrophotometry are used to assay biomolecules. How can precision and accuracy of these methods be maximised? Biomolecules are biological compounds that naturally occur in living organisms. They can also be classed as molecules involved in metabolic processes or the maintenance of living organisms All known forms of life are made exclusively of biomolecules and include of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur and phosphorus. These in turn ...
... colorimeters have coefficients of variation around 0.5% hence precision may also be an issue. These devices is not suitable if one had to use particular wavelengths however if information like this was not needed to be quantified, a colorimeter comes with less costs so may I would perhaps use this device to minimize cost. It is also important then when plotting a calibration curve one does not force their line to pass through zero as the result you have attained may be more accurate than zero.
