Shock is a condition resulting from the failure of enough blood flow in the body. This result to a limited amount of oxygen being supplied to the basic organs of the body: due to low blood pressure. If the shock lasts longer than one minute, it can threaten one’s life as it is causes damage to a number of organs due to the inadequate supply of oxygen. This could turn tragic and result to death if not attended to quickly. If it occurs, medical professionals recommend that immediate treatment should be administered to prevent the loss of a life.

Causes of Shock:
Shock is triggered off by a malfunction in the body that affects the blood flow. Heart problems like heart attack or heart failure can result to Cardiogenic shock. Severe bleeding or dehydration could result to a decrease in the blood volume leading to low levels. If unattended to, this could result to Hypovolemic shock

Prevention
When one is under AMI, Cardiogenic shock is very dangerous. It is life threatening. When the symptoms are spotted early enough, this enables the medical team to be able to react faster in treating the patient. It is advised to report immediately when one is suffering from this shock as it will help prevent further complications (Stone, Grines & Cox, 2002).
