The industrial age brought about industrial revolution of which there were profound changes in the society. In that era man used various tools materials and energy to produce create and innovate. They mastered and gained skills on the use of materials and energy. Computers altered or changed the way people live and work leading to computer technology and information revolution. This is the age of computer and vast majority of people are using computer. Development of science and computer technology has direct effect on our daily life as well as in our social life. Computer technology has made communication possible from one part of the world to the other in seconds. People can see the transactions in one part of the world while staying in the other part and with Computers capabilities and its advantages computers are used in many various fields such as medicine, business, engineering, manufacturing, agriculture. The impact of computers in the society is great and profound. Computers have both positive and negative impact in our daily life as well as in our social life. Introduction of computers have impacted every aspect of our personal lives causing fundamental changes to occur. There has been increase use of computers in our homes and other many places. Computers have given rise to issues that are debatable but no complete clear answer. Below shows how computers have affected people`s life.1.1 PRIVACY, PERSONAL RIGHTS AND DATA SECURITY
Privacy is the right or claim of individuals or institution to determine for themselves when, how and to what extend the information about themselves is communicated to others.
One the most and single criticism on computers is robbing us our privacy: Methods of securing our privacy even deteriorate!
Unregulated flow of information into computer data banks could lead to and erosion of constitutional rights. The computer can collect, process, store, and retrieve data more rapidly than any human. This ability coupled with the ever increasing number of computerized data banks, is making it possible for private industry and government agencies to compile sizeable information file on individual citizens. According to one view, the potential for good inherent in these data banks is great, but the potential for harm is infinite.

A cashless society is far more convenient.
• Computer does all tedious chores for people. Mortgage repayments, telephone, rates, electricity and gas bills, loan repayment- all these are automatically deducted from the amount in your bank.
• It will no longer be necessary to draw large sums of money out of the bank to make a purchase. This leads to less risk of being robbed.
• It avoids inconvenience of having to draw out money from the bank all the time.
• Credit cards allow people to buy goods and then to decide whether to pay for them at the end of the month or obtain the on credit, paying a proportion of each month.
Disadvantages
• It will be easy to spend more than you can really afford.
• It will be harder to relate to money you have when you can’t actually see it. Money comes into and goes out of your account automatically, so it is much harder to know how much you have left.
• With the increased use of credit cards, more and more information needs to be kept about individuals by outside organization. Inevitably some of the details may be incorrect and results in the persons affected being refused credit
