This essay is a connected text study of two novels - Empire of the Sun by JG Ballard and the novel Hitler's Canary by Sandi Toksvig. It is based around the two main characters Jim and Bamse and how they as well as other characters are affected by the war. It contains 19 quotes with their sources and reference stated to back up statements made. It works along the statement of the horrors and war and how people change. Also exploits some heroes that are found in the novel. This essay has been submited for A year 11 English Connected text study.
